Riva&Repele
Choreographers and dancers Simone Repele and Sasha Riva bring their moving production Dear Son to the stage of Teatro Malibran. At the heart of this poignant work lies a story of memory and hope — the portrait of a family devastated by the loss of a son who has gone to war. Past dreams and future aspirations are shattered, suspended in a present marked by stillness and sorrow.
With poetic sensitivity, Dear Son offers a powerful reflection on the fragility of life in a world still scarred by the persistence of war and conflict — a deeply human narrative that transcends time and place.
Sasha Riva and Simone Repele first met at the Hamburg Ballet School and later reunited as dancers at the Geneva Ballet School. Over the years, they developed a strong artistic bond, which led to the founding of their joint creative venture, Riva&Repele.
The duo quickly gained recognition on the international stage for their distinctive style, which blends a theatrical sensibility and a neoclassical vocabulary with a contemporary aesthetic rooted in the expressive power of gesture and movement.
