George Petrou is considered to be one of the most sensitive interpreters of the Baroque repertoire, embracing music from the 17th and 19th centuries to contemporary music. Born in Greece, Petrou graduated with honours in piano from the Athens Conservatory, later specialising at the Royal College and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Since June 2020, he has been Music Director of the Greek Radio National Symphony Orchestra and since the 2021-2022 season he has been Artistic Director of the renowned ‘Internationale Händel-Festspiele Göttingen’.
