The New Year’s Concert at La Fenice, as usual, presents a two-part musical programme: the first part is entirely for orchestra and the second part is focused on opera, with a selection of arias, duets and choral passages performed by prestigious soloists and the La Fenice Theatre Choir. Every year the Concert closes with two famous pieces by Giuseppe Verdi, masterpieces of the Italian Opera: the Chorus “Va’ pensiero sull’ali dorate” from Nabucco and the festive “Libiam ne’ lieti calici” from La Traviata.
