Tannhäuser

Richard Wagner’s Tannhäuser returns to the La Fenice Theater after twenty years of absence, in a new production created thanks to the international co-production of the La Fenice Theater Foundation with the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerpen, the Carlo Felice Theater in Genoa and the Konzert Theater Bern. The German’s Groβe Romantische Oper will be presented in the staging signed by the Spanish director Calixto Bieito – who returns to Venice after the award-winning Carmen of 2012 – with the scenes by Rebecca Ringst, the costumes by Ingo Krügler and the lights by Michael Bauer. The musical interpretation will be entrusted to Omer Meir Wellber, at the head of the Orchestra and Chorus of the La Fenice Theater.
