Celebrating Callas 40th Anniversary

La Fenice Opera House honours every day Maria. In September 2015 was opened an exhibition about the famous soprano, remembering all the Divine’s performaces in Venice from 1947 to 1954 with many stills, posters and scenes’lists.
On Agoust 2004 City of Venice & La Fenice decided to dedicated to the Divina a bridge just behind La Fenice Opera House. The experience in the Venetian theater was particularly important for Callas’s career: here she debuted in 1947 when she was just 24 with Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde and in 1949 the success started when she casually got Elvira’s role in I puritani, a Bellini’s play. Indeed, with this last one performance, critics understood her versatility and potentiality as dramatic soprano of agility and with this experience for Maria Callas started an international success.
All the materials about the important artist, whose preparation is organized by Marianna Zannoni, comes from Teatro La Fenice’s archive.
Inside the Opera House there will be also as a gift a Callas’s marble that will be realized with an international gathering of capital.
