A dialogue between body and sound, between memory and experimentation.
Wayne McGregor will present an original new choreography and a renewed staging of Coro, the masterpiece composed by Luciano Berio between 1974 and 1976 and performed in its Italian premiere at the Biennale Teatro e Musica, directed by Luca Ronconi, in 1976.
On stage, twenty dancers – ten from Company Wayne McGregor and ten selected from among the finest participants in the Biennale College project over the past five years – will perform alongside the forty voices of the Choir of the Siena Cathedral “Guido Chigi Saracini”, each paired, by affinity of register, with one of the forty members of the Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice.
The initiative is a tribute by La Biennale di Venezia to the great composer on the centenary of his birth, in collaboration with the Fondazione Teatro La Fenice and with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
