AM ARE
The solo project by Bugge Wesseltoft is a fully solo reinterpretation of AM ARE, the most recent chapter in a series of works that began in 2007. Released in March 2025, the fifth album in this cycle features the participation of numerous distinguished guests, each appearing on one or two compositions. In the live setting, this material is(toggle reworked into an intimate and personal musical journey, entrusted exclusively to Wesseltoft’s piano and electronics.

A central figure in contemporary European jazz, Bugge Wesseltoft has long been recognized as one of the most original shapers of the jazz language, through his solo albums, projects such as New Conception of Jazz, OKWorld! and RYMDEN, as well as collaborations with artists including Sidsel Endresen, Henning Kraggerud and Henrik Schwarz.
AM ARE moves across generations and styles, exploring sonic textures, dynamic contrasts and atmospheric landscapes that range from sparse arrangements to complex layers of dub, loops and improvisation. A work that places the value of human communication and interaction at its core, even when the music becomes profoundly solitary.
