Ten years after her unforgettable concert at Teatro La Fenice, Dulce Pontes’ voice returns to enchant Venice with a special event presented by Veneto Jazz. The renowned Portuguese singer, a leading figure in the renewal of fado and an artist who also captivated maestro Ennio Morricone, will be one of the stars of the Jazz& festival. The concert marks the only Italian date of her “35 Anos Tour.

With a career spanning 35 years, Dulce Pontes is unquestionably an essential voice for lovers of fado and music alike. A pianist, composer and performer, her worldwide success Canção do Mar, released internationally in 1993, established her as a key innovator of fado and earned her recognition as the finest heir to the great Amália Rodrigues. Her extraordinary artistic abilities, classical training and deep cultural sensibility have led her to perform across the globe and collaborate with some of the most important artists from different musical backgrounds.
A particularly significant chapter in her career is her encounter with Ennio Morricone, with whom she developed a close friendship and artistic partnership, resulting in the 2003 album Focus and a series of world tours on some of the most prestigious stages.
Accompanied by an outstanding quintet, Dulce Pontes will perform some of the most iconic pieces from her repertoire (O Primeiro Canto, Morricone…), alongside selections from her latest album Perfil.
