Redi Hasa cello
Bijan Chemirani drums
Rami Khalifé piano
A master of the Iranian zarb and Persian percussion, with a natural inclination to immerse himself in both jazz and Mediterranean sounds, Bijan Chemirani combines his knowledge of rhythm with the cello of Albanian Redi Hasa – known for his contribution to the revival of traditional music in southern Italy, but also for his collaborations with Maria Mazzotta, Ludovico Einaudi and Robert Plant – and the piano of Lebanese Rami Khalifé, who masterfully blurs the boundaries between classical and electronic music on his keyboards. Although their paths had already crossed, the real encounter took place on the eve of the pandemic, in a studio in Puglia, near Lecce, when time seemed to be about to stand still. In that magnificent setting flooded with light, the three virtuosos met in the autumn of 2024 to record L’Antidote, an instrumental repertoire of rare finesse that contrasts the healing and vital power of music with the poisons of the present.
